Jewel Box Graffiti

September 13, 2011 by Ben Nardolilli in Poetry

You feel bad when annoyed

By happy people doing nothing

But making all the noises

You would make too, if happy.

Especially with company,

Another person to pitch and receive

Yells and snorts over a table

While others eat and read papers.

But this morning I have rights

To anger and annoyance,

Like kneeling next to a fat pilgrim

Who blocks out a stained glass window,

A gang of smiles fences in the sight

Of a woman, hair beautifully tussled,

Fresh out of bed and drinking

Street black coffee through her full lips.
